Planning retirement through real estate
What to decide before committing capital with retirement in mind.

The decision is not what to buy
When someone buys with retirement in mind, the conversation almost always starts with the property. The property is the last piece: three decisions come before it, and all of them are far more expensive to change afterwards.
In whose name
How the property is held decides what happens the day it has to be transferred, in which jurisdiction that is resolved, and with what consequences for whoever receives it. Changing the structure after buying is possible and expensive; deciding it beforehand costs nothing. Every structure we propose goes through our legal partner before the client commits capital.
Whether the property has to be operated
A property for personal use and one that has to be operated while unused are not the same thing. The second needs someone answering every day, and that is prepared before handover, not after. If the product is hospitality, management is part of the purchase decision, not a later problem.
When the money will be needed
Property does not sell when you want it to: it sells when a buyer appears. Committing capital to real estate when that capital may be needed on a specific date is the most common way to end up selling on bad terms. That conversation belongs at the start, with real numbers on the table.
What we will not do
We do not give return figures or payback periods, here or anywhere else. We are not financial advisers, and a projection with our letterhead on it would be more of a sales argument than an analysis. What we do is make the structure, the product and the timeline match what you actually need.
